Mylk Shake Break recipe by Ania Nowicki Health Coach

 

This is a great alternative to traditional milk-shakes. It’s high in all of the essential amino acids thanks to the pumpkin seeds and buckwheat. It’s also a great source of fibre, magnesium, zinc and other fantastic health giving nutrients. You’ll need a high speed blender such as a Vitamix to make it really smooth.

Serves: 1

Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbs / 8g almonds (preferably soak for at least 8 hours and rinsed well)
  • 1 tbs / 10g pumpkin seeds (preferably soak for at least 8 hours and rinsed well)
  • 1 tbs / 8g buckwheaties or sprouted buckwheat
  • 1 cm vanilla pod
  • 1-2 date
  • 1-1.5 cup / 2-300 ml water or cooled herbal tea of your preference (I love pau d’arco in this recipe)

 

Method:

Blend well until smooth.

 

Tip:

This is a great mylk to use as the basis of a breakfast, such as this one.

Add a pinch of cinnamon for a little spice and to balance blood sugar.

Add a small nob of fresh ginger or half a teaspoon of ginger for a warming winter drink.
